Big Skies
Our pastel workshop was a great success with an amazing demonstration by Christine with all the technicalities of pastel painting explained in detail.
The artist pigment in pastels will stay fresh for many years. We heard how important it is to choose pastels for different aspects of your work and for the intensity and softness of the pigment. We discovered underpainting using a solvent and the importance of layering onto quality pastel paper.
Try photographing your work and changing it to black and white to judge the tonal range.
We chose Big Skies for the session and look forward to another of Christine's numerous workshop themes in the future.
